I am sitting here trying to think of the words that describe the sadness I feel everytime that I hear of another brother or sister that has had their life taken from them in the line of duty. The words simply don't exist or they escape me. As tragic as the death of a police officer is I tend to find solace in the fact that it is not in vain but because they were willing to stand on that wall and be willing to confront those who the rest of society would rather shy away from. RIP in peace Officer Bonneau and may you bask in the glory of God.

A POLICE OFFICER'S PRAYER

Lord I ask for courage

Courage to face and
Conquer my own fears...

Courage to take me
Where others will not go...

I ask for strength

Strength of body to protect others
And strength of spirit to lead others...

I ask for dedication

Dedication to my job, to do it well
Dedication to my community
To keep it safe...

Give me Lord, concern
For others who trust me
And compassion for those who need me...

And please Lord

Through it all
Be at my side...
