"We may never forget that Police Officers give the ultimate sacrifice so that we may all live in a free nation. Let us never forget that Heroes are those that do the right thing regardless of the consequences, and that the noblest of shrines are not the cold stones that mark their graves ...But their homes in the hearts of men who love them.”

I never met you, but I lived in the city you protected and served. Thank you for all you did that my children were safe from harm. Thank you for being one of the amazing men in blue that proudly protect the city of Jackson. Your presence here will be sadly missed.

Ronald Reagan once said, " Some people will spend an entire life time wondering if they ever made a difference, Marines don't have that problem." Well Officer Bonnau, Police Officers don't have that problem either. There's a special place reserved for the peace makers in heaven, and a hot place in hell for those that would do us harm. Walk your new beat with your held high. You have done us all proud.

Jim, you will be missed. Since the academy, we have all grown apart and that is a shame. You were a great person, dedicated, strong, and good natured. I wish we would have kept in more contact since the end of the academy in November of 2007, but hind sight is 20/20. You will be greatly missed, by not only your department and family, but your brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement around the country. Go in peace James Bonneau and know that you will always be remembered for the good person and officer you were. Your friend from the 81st.. Mike
