Reflections for Corporal Clovis Wayne "J.R." Searcy, Jr.

Having been a Centenary Lady Gent, Monroe was our 'out of town' stomping grounds and I have many happy memories of Shreveport's east partner on I-10.

I was so sorry to learn of Corporal Searcy's injury and passing. I am heartily glad that his killer is now facing his judgement in the next life.

Corporal Searcy, thank you for serving your community and fellow citizens. Rest in peace, sir; you will not be forgotten.

Our profession of honorable, loving and dedicated brothers and sisters has lost a great and honorable brother to now serve in God's Police Department alongside all our heroic brothers and sisters who have also paid the ultimate in protecting and serving God's children in their communities. Know that those brothers and sisters left behind will care for your family and will never let your sacrifice and your outstanding devotion be forgotten. As you now work with those who went before you and with our Lord and Savior, be at peace and give Jesus a hug for us still here. In Christ.

May God find a special place in heaven for our brother, why does it seem that this year is so deadly for us? Is it that our leaders have created such polarization in society that we being the most visible agents of government are being targeted for all the rage that has built up? Let us pray that these fractures will heal without taking any more of our brothers.

I did not know you, I only met you once, very briefly. I have been so touched by your story and all the people who have come together in prayers and mourning. Facebook is a true testimony to the man you were here on earth and the angel you are now in heaven. I'm so sad for your wife, children and family and have them all in my prayers. God bless all of your fellow officers and may He watch over them daily as they all continue on to "Serve and Protect". I created the FB page because I felt that we all needed to honor this man I have heard so much about, and I know you must be up there now, proud to know that you were so appreciated by so many, so loved, and will be so missed.
