Ken,

I was working overtime that night and heard the call go out. I remember working with you on several county wide details and keep frozen in my mind an image of you smiling and joking around. Your family and friends are in my thoughts. Heroes live forever.

Funny, kind, respectful and in-charge. He was always a pleasure to deal with in his courtroom. Is is always sad when a familiar face departs the courthouse and heads out to patrol, but this is the worst fear realized. It is a reminder of the risks some take for the many. My sincerest respect and appreciation for the loss to his fiance, the Sheriff's Department and the entire County of San Diego. He was one of the "good ones."

Brother Ken your service to God's children here is now complete and has been known for it's love, honor and integrity throughout your community. As you now serve in His lingdom alongside your new partners notice they too have served with honor and dignity and have also paid the ultimate. Those brothers and sisters left behind will keep your memory alive for times to come and they will care for your family during this time of grief and loss. While you get to work with your new supervisor Jesus Christ, give him a hug for those of us still here. In Christ.

Ken was a great man. I remember him since I was about 6 years old. He was great friends with my brothers and sister and was even their roommate for a few years. Ken would always visit at our home when he worked with my brothers at the theatre. He could always light up a room and make everyone laugh. I know he will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to this family and friends. May God bless you always.
