Wahlenmaier Family, Friends, and Fellow Sheriff Deputies of FCSD:
My sincerest and most heartfelt condolences go out to the family of Dpty Wahlenmaier and an ENTIRE community that was left devastated and grief stricken the day this Deputy was so selfishly taken from us. Although the anger prevails within me as to "why" this had to happen to someone who was sworn to protect and serve; I have to stop and remind myself..."Nicole, only the Lord knows, but now Dpty Wahlenmaier has a different assignment & a different boss... AND NO ONE can EVER hurt him again!" I take comfort in knowing that he is in a safer place now, but I just pray daily that the Lord will ease (in time), the awful heartache his family, co-workers, and community feels from the loss of this hero. Deputy Wahlenmaier was not just a Sheriff's Deputy, but he was in fact a soldier. Just like all American soldiers... Dpty Wahlenmaier gave his life to protect, serve, and ensure our safety in the community in which we dwell. For that I have the utmost respect. May you ALWAYS rest in peace Deputy Wahlenmaier, you will NEVER be forgotten, and forever will be missed.

With all due respect to the Wahlenmaier Family... My love, prayers, and thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.

TO THE FAMILY,FRIENDS AND FELLOW OFFICERS OF DEPUTY WAHLENMAIER,
MY MOTHER ALWAYS SAID, "YOU GO TO A FUNERAL TO HONOR THE DEAD AND SHOW RESPECT TO THE FAMILY."
A FAMILY HAS NEVER DESERVED MORE RESPECT THAN YOURS! (AND THAT RESPECT WAS SHOWN BY SO MANY, FROM BOTH NEAR AND FAR, FRIENDS AND STRANGERS ALIKE.)
YOU PAID THE ULTIMATE PRICE TO GIVE ALL OF US A HERO, BUT THAT DOES NOT EASE YOUR GRIEF. I HOPE IN THE FUTURE ALL OF THESE MESSAGES BRING YOU PEACE AND COMFORT THAT WILL EASE THE SUFFERING.

Wally, I just want to take this time to thank you for your service as a Deputy Sheriff and as a person. You truly are an awesome man. I recall back in my CSO days how you were a "go to" guy when I had all those questions regarding TRU calls I was taking while working up in Area 4.
You were the kind of person that made everyone feel welcomed no matter who they were. You are a true example of a Peace Officer. Much love and respect to you and your family at this time. Love ya Wally. God Bless you Brother.

I did not have the honor of knowing this fine young Deputy. His service and sacrafice will be in my heart and mind for all my days. From all I have learned, he loved and was loved by all that knew him. That he gave his life doing what he loved and was among his brothers somehow fits this fine man. I thank him for his service. God's speed.
