Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Lieutenant Brian S. Mohamed

I had the great opportunity of knowing Brian and serving with him in the same company and academy class. Rest easy Brian the brothers in blue will take the watch from. Thank you for your heroism and sacrifice.

Keep resting in perpetual peace my brother. Many of us who are still here, and many of us who were there at those sites salute you for your sacrifice. You were taken from your family and us, your brothers and sisters in blue too soon. It will be my honor when we meet.

On Memorial day, thinking of my brother, as I do every day. He lived a life of service, a very proud marine and police officer. I miss him more than words could express.

Hey Brian, there is not a day that goes by that I do not think of you. You are truly missed. I had a dream about you the other day. You simply said hello. You were with your dad. But in my dream you were smiling. It was such a beautiful dream. We all still miss you so much. Rest in peace.

I served with Brian while in the Marine Corps. He was a first class Marine and friend. I was told of his death a couple of years ago but didn't know it was due to the terrorist attacks on 9/11. He held to true to his nature and put others before him. I am glad that I knew him. God has a special place for those like Brian.

I just came across this page after googling my late husband's name almost 5 years after he passed.

I wasn't aware that everyone was writing with there thoughts.. not even family.

I'm speechless and touched and grateful!

He will never be forgotten and always will be missed. My son is his splitting image.

Thank you.

Brian was a friend to all and a respected Marine, it was a pleasure to serve with him overseas in Japan.
I remember him talking about his goal of becoming a NY city police officer, and am not surprised to see he accomplished what he set out to do.
I am sadden to hear of his passing, and offer my sincere condolences to his family....
President Reagan once said "Some people go through life wondering if they have made a difference...Marines don't have that problem!" Here is to the difference Brian made...

To Brian's family and friends please accept my deepest condolences. I was a friend of Brian's when we were stationed in Iwakuni Japan during the mid 80's while serving in the Marine Corps. I last saw Brian in 1991 when he visited me in California after being activated from the Marine Corps reserve during Desert Shield/Storm. We stayed in touch over the years but somehow lost touch slightly after 9/11. I had tried to find him a few times on facebook to no avail until today. Needless to say my heart sank. My friend who I shared laughs, racketball, stories and beers with was gone. You were a great person Brian and will be in my thoughts and prayers forever.

Brian, I am choked up at just the slightest passing thought of your memory. My only refuge is knowing that you lived a life that everyone that knows you, can be proud of. I am proud just knowing you...That someone so courageous, smart, funny, and caring could bless me in this life with brotherhood. I have also found great inspiration from your life and the way you lived it. In many ways we were opposites, but I now share (even if but a fraction) your will, focus, courage, and perseverance. I refuse to be down, when I've seen you get up sooo many times. I have since bettered my life--with you constant in my thoughts. I love you big bro, and I look forward to being made fun of again--but only by you.

Brian,

I can't look at this page without crying. 3 1/2 years later and it feels like yesterday for me. I miss you more than my words can express. I will keep you alive in my heart and memories forever.. easy to do with your son looking and talking exactly like you did at his age.. Keeps all the girls laughing. I find solace in your friends, family and random strangers leaving their kind words here; remembering you with a smile at our gatherings. Sometimes I think I am the only one feeling this devastated, lost... and read these pages and know there are thousands suffering as much as our family. My heart is with them as well.

All my love,
