Reflections for Police Chief Emmett C. Bright

Thank you for your sacrifice. You will never be forgotten.

Emmett, You passed away before you knew your grand-daughter, Sandi born in 1965. She grew up to be a wonderful girl. She has a very good heart and graduated from Alabama. You and Momma B would have been very proud of her!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 54th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Chief Bright,
It has taken over 52 years, but you are finally being honored. I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of New Hope. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. It sickens that your murderers were sentenced to no more than 15 years.
