Chad was a dedicated public servant with unlimited potential. I knew him when he was the Emergency Management Director of Dixie County and have seen him at many disaster scenes. This is a tragic loss of an oustanding young man and brave law enforcement officer. May God Bless Chad and look after his family and loved ones.

My condolences to the family at the loss of such a wonderful man. I can't imagine what the family must be going through right now. We will always remember Chad as a wonderful man who wanted to make a difference in the Community through working with the students at our schools. His loss will be felt through all at the schools. I guess God needed another angel up there. RIP Chad Reed!

My family's thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I thought when I retired from the Collier County S.O. and moved up here to Dixie County, I would have gone to my last funeral of a fallen brother, alas! that 's just not to be. Rest easy now Captain, another has your watch.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Captain Reed and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever.
To the family, friends, and colleagues of Captain Reed, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Captain Reed is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family, and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
