Craig, thank you for your service! Thank you for marrying such a wonderful woman, Dani. She and many others have become good friends because of the loss of my Son, Joey. We didn’t ask to be apart of the loss of Law Enforcement, but without this family’s Wouldn’t be mentally where we are today. I can’t thank you both enough! Rest In Peace and we’re sure will meet you soon. Send my love to my son. I miss him so!!! We’ll be here for your family no matter what.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of you and the times we had working the streets. I can see your smile and hear your laugh like you were right here next to me. You are and always will be an inspiration to me. You were a loving father, husband, and friend. You conducted yourself with honor and integrity and were a true warrior. I miss you brother.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

To an excellent Officer, I remember our time in the academy
sitting outside under the shade tree eating lunch, and then
being apart of a class where the entire recruit class passed the final exam. (class #24). Take care my friend and may God give you the opportunity to police in his kingdom. May God always be your co-pilot.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Every time I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the officer they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Officer Story, especially to his wife. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. (The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. I can also be found on Face Book.) You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Craig, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Craig's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Craig's life was about so much more than the way he died. Craig will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Officer Story, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been seven years and a half years but he's still very much missed and forever loved.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

My Dearest Family and Friends

Somethings I'd like to say but first of all to let you know that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from Heaven where I dwell with Our Lord above. where there's no more tears or sadness just eternal Love. Please don't be unhappy because I'm out of sight, remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and Night.
The Day I had to leave you when my Life on earth was through God picked me up and hugged me and He said I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again, You were missed while you were gone. As for your Dearest Family they'll be here later on.
I need you here so badly as part of my big plan. Theres so much we have to do to help our Mortal Man.
Then God gave me a list of things that He wished for me to do, and foremost on that list of mine is to watch and care for you.
I'll be beside you everyday and through out the years, And when your sad I'm standing there to wipe away your tears.
When You lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight God and I are close to you in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on Earth and all the loving years, because your only human they are bound to bring you tears.
Please don't be afraid to cry, it does releive the pain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned, But if I were to tell you You wouldn't understand. One thing is for certain, though my life on Earth is over I'm closer to you now than I ever was before.

To My many Friends, Trust God knows what is best.I'm still not far away from you I'm just beyond the crest.

So, If you can help somebody who is in sorrow or in pain, then you can say to God at night my day was not in vain.
And now I am content that with my life it was worth while,Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
If you meet somebody who is down and feeling low just lend a hand and pick him up as on your way you go.
When Your walking down the street and you've got me on your mind just know Im walking in your footstep only a half a step behind.
And if you feel a gentel breeze or wind upon your face thats me just giving you a great big hug or just a soft embrace.
I will always love you from the land way up above We'll be in touch again soon
PS God sends his Love.

My brother, Officer Andrew Horn of the Carrollton Police Department, is riding in honor of Officer Story in the 2010 Law Enforcement United Memorial Ride to Washington D.C. I found this page today, and saw that Officer Story left behind a wife, son, and baby on the way. I hope that his family has been able to find some healing and peace, and that the love of mother and children is holding the memory of Officer Story in their hearts. When my brother told us he wanted to become a police officer, I was both overwhelmingly proud and terrified. I am scared for him, and scared for those of us he would leave behind if he were to die. I cannot begin to imagine what life is like for Officer Story's family – I can only hold you in highest regard, and tell you that my prayers and thoughts are with you this week, as Team Texas rides to D.C. I know your love for each other and for 'Dad' is just as strong today as it was before he died, and I am humbled by the knowledge of his sacrifice and your courage. I wish you well.
