Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Walter Kent Mundell, Jr.

To Sheriff Paul Pastor and all of the LE community in Pierce County.

I was so saddened when I learned of Deputy Mundell's passing. I was praying for a miracle. I never had the pleasure of meeting this fine young man. From what I have heard he was a true hero! He sacrificed his life for the people of Washington State. We must make sure that no one ever forgets him or the fine officers from Lakewood and Seattle that we have lost in the last 2 months. God bless all of you and your families. I pray that you stay safe. Thank you for the tough jobs that you do and the danger you face bravely each and every day.

I am so sorry for the loss of Deputy Mundell. He acted bravely at a time which must have been so horrific and frightening. Please know that I am thinking of his family, friends, and the law enforcement community at this very sad and difficult time. We in the Pacific Northwest are stunned and saddened by the recent string of attacks on our police officers. I am grateful and proud of the work you do.

God has received another brother of courage, honor and integrity into His police Department in His heavenly kingdom. Your brothers and sisters left behind will never let your name be forgotten and they will care for your family. Notice all your new partners in the badge are also courageous and honorable and they too paid the ultimate serving Gods children in thier communities. Your new supervisor is none other than Jesus and His leadership excels any you have experienced before. Give Him a hug for all those still here. Rest in peace brother. In Christ.
