Samuel Blundell was my great-grandfather. One of my cousins was doing ancestry research and found this information. He was honored by the LAPD several years ago, and I was privileged to be able to attend, along with one of my daughters, 2 cousins, and another branch of the family we had never met. His son, my grandfather, Joseph Henry Blundell, was in law enforcement for a time in Idaho. I also work in law enforcement in a non-sworn position. We always honor our Peace Officers, living or deceased.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 93rd anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
