For Police Officer Michael Crawshaw:

Law officers everywhere know well the risks when responding to the domestic complaint. None of us know what awaits and every call brings with it the tension of what well could be the transfer of rage. The worst occurs when an officer is slain. When the killer flees then a hunt must begin. None who wear a badge will rest until the culprit is captured. In this case, as in others, it will be so. Whatever it takes. However long. Whatever must be done.

We pray for Mike, his family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. We ask for understanding what cannot be understood and calm when shock and rage can only numb the mind further. We pray for those who are close to bring what is needed, to those who are hurting, at the time that is right.

I am proud to render a final salute to Officer Michael Crawshaw, a soldier-of-the-law and a protector of the public, who has joined the league-of-heros who have given their lives in service to others.

Pennsylvania State Police
