I read about Officer Nettleton's tragic death the day it happened and couldn't believe what I was reading. How horrible that this happened, but particularly in this manner. I just wanted his family to know that they are not alone, and hope they continuously feel his presence with them. It may not get easier as time goes on, only you find more friends and strength than you never knew you could have.

I'd also like to send my condolences to his entire department. I've seen what is like on one department to lose one officer in the line of duty, I couldn't imagine 2 within days, let alone a handful within a year.

LVMPD must have some good officers if God needs all that he has chosen.

God Bless

Cousin of PO David Tome EOW 10/21/08

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. Everytime I hear of another officer getting shot or killed it really makes me sick to my stomach. People just don't know what an officer really goes through to keep them safe and out of harms way.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

This is a true shame. It is horrible that officers have to be on duty even in the comfort of their own home. Though I don't know Officer Nettleton, he is a true hero for protection his family and fighting back. Such a tragedy. my heart goes out to your family and friends.

These are the kind of incidents that infuriate me to hear. When the thugs cross the boundary into our homes, and seemingly target law enforcement. I sure hope LVMPD hits these bastards hard; shake them 24 7 relentlessly. Make them wish they were dead! I only hope justice makes an example out of these three animals that took this brother officer, father, & husband, away from his family.
Brother may you soul rest in peace-we'll take care of your killers. God- help this family during this sorrowful time.

I can't begin to express how painful it is to know that, of all places, one of our brothers couldn't be safe in his own home. The only comfort to be found, is that he was close to those he loved in his last moments. Too many others have passed away on some lonely street, far away from loved ones. As a father to a 3 year old little girl, my heart is so saddened at the thought of his children missing him for the rest of their lives, but maybe more so knowing that he will never know the joy of watching them grow up. Rest in peace brother...it's your time to rest. And may God bless and comfort his wife and precious children as they try to live life day to day.

I served with Trev for two years in the Marine Corps and we were buddies. We lost touch but I never forgot what a great guy he was. My thoughts and prayers got out to his family. SEMPER FI brother! I will miss you.

"Semper Fi" from a from a former Marine, Trevor. You go off to serve your country on foreign soil and come home to be gunned down in your own home.
My heart hurts deeply for all Law Enforcement , after seeing for many years the dedication to "protect and serve" of Law Enforcement officers in the shadow of death, including my own son. My heartfelt prayer's go out to your family, friends and fellow officers. May the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, sustain you all.
