Reflections for Trooper David J. Lane

David, Another year has come and gone without you...our hearts still miss your voice and smile! This year will bring you a new niece or nephew on National Law Enforcement Day! I know you will be there and know that we send our love to you each day! Watch over your Brothers and Sisters in Law Enforcement and First Responders...help bring them home safe to their families! I know God needed help to watch over them !! You gave us so much to love and memories to cherish but our hearts still ache each day!!! Sending love and hugs always! Mom

Trooper David Lane will never ever be forgotten, may his soul rest in Heaven where he resides with our Lord God. May his family, especially his mother have the peace of God with her always, and may she be always blessed.

My prayers are forever with Cheryl and the entire Lane Family. I often time think about David with a smile in my heart. I have always enjoyed our conversations while he was assigned to SP Watertown zone. I also had the honor, however sad, of coordinating his funeral arrangements within Division of State Police. Dave was a good man, and he will NEVER EVER BE FORGOTTEN.

Your Brother and his Family,Kelly,Aunts,Uncles,Cousins,Friends and your Law Enforcement Family filled the house and garage with laughter and stories. Lane chicken, your favorite and theirs was on the grill, silly string decorated your tree in the front yard .. 8 yrs. ago this was the worst day of my life..today...your family and friends make it a bearable day. Colonel Reagan still drives 5 hrs. up and back to have dinner with all of us. We are honored to have such a wonderful man with us. We think of you everyday and miss you even more...we are proud of the man you grew up to be...watch over your brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement and your family! Sending love and hugs always! Our hearts still long for you to be with us! Your Law Enforcement Brothers and Sisters drove home to spend the weekend with us ! Keep them all safe and the new member of our State Police! You were so loved by many and have never been forgotten. Just received a note from one of your classmates. Her daughter wants to honor you on veterans day and your best friends son visited your grave and kissed your stone goodbye..while wearing a DJL hat...I know you are smiling.Jeff,Crystal and Kelly created a new roadside memorial that is beautiful and gave us a book of the start to finish process. We are so blessed to have them . Miss and Love you forever!

We are forever grateful for his services, I hope that his family is granted peace, and patience. Trooper David Lane's death is a reminder of why it is important for us to have highway patrol.

Driving around today I thought of something funny and laughed to myself. It was a joke that you told me years ago. When that happens I know you're still there watching over me. Thanks brother. See you when I see you.
