May God bless your family and help them to understand in this difficult time. I started my career as a reserve before becomming full time. I always enjoyed having the reserves ride with me on the weekends, their helping spirit always made an enjoyable shift. God must have greater need for you now. Thank You for sacrificing your self to help others.

On behalf of the MPROA, we express our most sincere condolences to the family of Reserve Deputy Mike Wilken and the Ramsey County Sheriff's Dept. Mike is the First Minnesota Reserve to be killed in the line of duty since 1963, so things like this are especially hard on the volunteer Reserves of Minnesota. We stand with the Ramsey County Sheriff and Mikes family in their time of grief.

On a peronal note. Mike....I have known you for many years when we worked together at Ramsey County and I continued to work with you when I went to another agency. I remember times on the streets, on patrol, at details, hockey games, and at the holiday parties working with you and seeing how much of a great person you were. You will leave a everlasting impression on us all. You won't be forgotten. As we carry on the torch in your honor, please watch over us, protect us and keep us safe. We have the watch now. Goodbye my friend.
