Reflections for Patrolman Chad Ernest Spicer

Chad Spicer wasnt just a great Police officer for the town of Georgetown De, but he was a caring person and a great friend. He didnt know me from the hole in the ground when I worked for the City of Milford Police Department as a seasonal officer in 09, but I got to work with him and meet him the week before he got shot in the line of duty. He was one of the coolest people i met that night we worked together, there was several organizations working with us that night but He told me that anytime i wanted to i could come down there and do a Ride-a-Long with him and as well use him for a Refference for Georgetown Pd, and he was the only one. That gave me that honor . I miss him and wish he was still he , I know we would of been great friends . I regret not doing the ride a long immediately after i met him. I wish he was still here i didnt know him long ,but long enough to know he was a great cop. Rip Chad Spicer .

Stopping motor vehicles remains one of the most dangerous parts of policework. Please all you officers out there be more vigilant when making traffic stops especially when a gun has been involved............

Chad,
You are and will continue to be a hero/father/son/brother to many people. The few times I met you, you always had a smile on your face and when you spoke of your daughter your smile even grew bigger! A little while back I had the chance to visit where you rest now and I had the opportunity to meet your dad while I was there. I spoke to him briefly. I left the grave site that day filled with emotion and tears in my eyes after speaking to your dad. I know your family, friends and loved ones miss & love you dearly and will continue to miss & love you, but just keep them strong during these times. Justice will be served.
Rest in peace!

Chad-

I can't believe it's been a year today since you've been gone. We all miss you so much and wish every day you were here still working the streets with us. Please tell Chris Shea we said hi and miss him as well, and continue to look down and protect us as we fight the battle on the streets you loved so much. Miss you brother......

It was not only an honor but a pleasure to ride in Remembrance of you for the Police Unity Tour 2010. I wore your name on a blue bracelet while riding my bicycle 250 miles into DC. Your Father wore it proudly when I presented it to him While in Washington DC. I also had the pleasure of meeting your Mother and your beautiful daughter Aubrey. We talked and enjoyed each others company for about 45 minutes. Aubrey gave me a great high five as I showed her a picture of my daughter and son. Your fellow officers were great to speak with as they helped me locate your parents at the NLEOM. If it was not for a great friend of mine and yours (Lonnie Feaster), I would not have had this emotional heart felt moment in my life.

Chad,
They other night we were conducting a Citizen Police Academy and we were showing them traffic stops. During the class I kept referring to you and what you did on your stops. I kept on telling the class about how hard you worked, how great you were at it, and how much you enjoyed doing it. We miss you a lot. The firehouse has the oyster eat tonight and all I can remember was the oyster eat the weekend before we started to the academy and you dancing. What was even better was the night you had to dance for us in the Squad Bay. Miss you brother!!!
