Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Michael Paul Davey

A young man with such an honorable past and a bright future and it's over. You are a hero on a number of levels and I thank you for your service to my neighboring town. The world is a little less happy, a little more sad and at a huge loss now.

My heart goes out to your family, your wife, your children and your parents (your Dad being a retired Brother). They will never be able to replace you.

My heart also goes out to the man who caused your death. I cannot believe he did so intentionally or that he feels anything but fear, shame, and absolute remorse, at least I hope he feels these things.

You died too young and before you could truly show the people of Weymouth what you had to give, but now you can watch over the whole town and your family from a better vantage point with God's help.

God Bless and may you Rest in Peace, Brother.

To the Davey Family and brother and sister officers of the WPD:

My sincere condolances on the loss of your husband, father, son and brother. Though I did not know him personally, I would like to thank him not only for keeping the Town of Weymouth a safer place but also keeping our natioin a safer place with his service in the Military.

My heart truly aches as I write this as it brings back such strong feelings of a similar incident which occured some time ago to a dear friend of mine. Again, my deepest condolances and I pray for all that knew Michael, that they have the strength and courage to get through these trying times and know how many people have you in their thoughts and prays. May God bless you.
