To Deputy Sheriff Robbie Chase Whitebird, to all family members and friends who call him beloved, and to his law enforcement family:

I was sorry to learn of Robbie's death and extend my sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you have suffered. Words are insufficient to describe the sadness I feel for the Whitebird family. May you find comfort in your faith and the support of the law enforcement community.

There are many police survivors who share this same journey with you, and that community will be there to support you. Robbie's memory will be forever honored and revered.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Robbie gave to his community and the citizens of Oklahoma and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on July 26, 2009.

Thank you for your heroic service.

Now, fly on with GOD, FREE BIRD!

"If I leave here tomorrow,
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on, now,
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see.
But if I stayed here with you, girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change."

I just read every single message written about you. I hope your entire family reads these and realizes how much of a difference you obviously made in alot of peoples lives. What has been said about you in these messages is a direct reflection of your family and friends. They must be good people also..
I hope your family takes comfort knowing how good of a man you turned out to be. I did not know you but would have been proud to have worked with you.
