To Sgt. Steven May,
Thank You for your sacrifice for our community. You gave your life so that we could be safer! Your Bravery and selflessness will forever be remembered by not only me and my family but by those who know and love you. As we come to grips with the great hole that is left here on Earth, because you are no longer here to see and touch. We will remember all the days that we were blessed to have you here with us. I did not get a chance to personally get to know you, however I do know a big part of who you are. You are: kind, sweet, warm and friendly. You love your wife and kids. You are thankful for the wonderful parents that took the time to raise you with great care. You are the friend that so many can call at anytime; that will be there no matter what the need. You are the brave young man that chose to "serve and protect" his community. You are apart of the Thin Blue Line! A Line of men and women that go out each day and want to make this world a better and safer place to live. Thank You! I know you have done just that!
As we Honor you and the sacrifice that not only you bore. Those that are left to continue on, absent of your physical presence. Yet I know your spiritual presence(love) will remain with those that know and love you. I am confident that you will be watching over all of us from a perfect place with a perfect God. I want you to know that I will keep your family continually in prayer as they walk this World without you. These next days will be difficult for sure...but we (police family as well as your community) will stand by their side and hold them up; as they grieve the loss of you Sgt. Steven May. We too Grieve with them!
With great honor and respect... The Stevenson Family.

My heart goes out to Steven May's wife, children and his whole family. You had so many long years to be by his side but now he can honestly be at rest with the Lord. Nonetheless, it is painful to lose someone you love so dearly and who was such a huge part of your life. I just wanted to let you know that my thoughts have been with you and I am so sorry for your loss.

May God bless you all.

I remember the evening of the pursuit. When I was involved in the pursuit I could never have imagined in a million year I would be pursuing the man who would eventually take my friends life. Hindsight is always 20/20. Listening to the 11-99 call go out, I had an uneasy, sick to my stomach feeling when it went out. I was on scene seconds after the impact and I feared the worse, I didnt know who was in the patrol vehicle at the time, however all of us feared that the officer inside was dead. I knew you were in that area and I knew how much you always wanted to be involved. I would never want a law enforcement brother being involved, however its always in the back of your mind that it isn't someone you know or someone you're close to.

I miss you my friend, I miss your gentle nature and the laughs we would share at China Gate over garlic chicken. It hard to believe its been 7 years since that tragic night. I remember standing next to the mangled wreck of what used to be your patrol car praying that you would be ok. I had a bad feeling when it took the emergency personnel so long to extract you from your vehicle. Then when you never regained consciousness I feared the worse. I had you in my prayers every day, praying for a miracle. Now we know that Heavenly Father needs you to patrol the streets of heaven. "blessed are the protectors"

You will be sorely missed my friend. I pray for Diana and her heart to heal. I pray for your children that they can have the peace and comfort knowing you are in a far much better place!!

Peace be with you my friend and God Bless you as well as your family!! I miss you my friend!
