For Chief Deputy Joshua Eggelston:

Our job in law enforcement is fraught with danger. None of us expect something as common as motor vehicle crash to be the end of our existence. Even worse, the malfunction of equipment causing a crash that is fatal. Such is our lot. Like many, we engage the deadliest of battlefields, a United States Highway.

Josh was out on the highway and fully engaged in the process of serving those in his community. That he would die while doing so makes him a hero among heros. We regret this loss, but can only face it with dignity and respect. No one knows who or why we are called for duty elsewhere, except our Creator. We trust their is a reason.

As a retired state trooper and a Lake County FL deputy sheriff I am pround to render Chief Deputy Josh Eggelston a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
Pennylvania State Police
