It breaks my heart to know that so many young Officers are Killed In The Line Of Duty. And I know that no matter what we do that's just what's going to happen. It's LIFE, but I wanted the family to know that there are alot of people who are praying for them and Trooper Miller, and here when they need us...
My son was killed in 2004, and I can honestly say that he loved every minute of being and Officer, that's what helps me through plus the other survivors that have helped me along this path, and continues to help me.
Trooper Miller you are a HERO, and we will never forget your sacrifice, or the sacrifice of your family....

Joshua MILLER gave his life to save the life of an innocent child, for that alone there is a special place in heaven awaiting him, he saved the life of a child who was unable to protect himself, Joshua is a hero in every sence of the word, i did not personally know Joshua but i am proud to say i work for the same department as he did, my heart felt sympathy to his family and friends. REST IN PEACE!

“I am standing upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white
sails to the morning breeze and starts
for the blue ocean.

She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until at length
she hangs like a speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky come
to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says;
"There, she is gone!"

"Gone where?"
Gone from my sight. That is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull
and spar as she was when she left my side
and she is just as able to bear her
load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.

And just at the moment when someone
at my side says, "There, she is gone!"
There are other eyes watching her coming,
and other voices ready to take up the glad
shout;
"Here she comes!" - Henry Van Dyke

May God bless the family and friends of this hero.

Retired Texas peace officer

I did not know trooper Miller but I know several like him. A person who every day gave 100% to help others. I also know there is a place for him far better than here. We are now sad and greive. Time will pass but be assured Trooper Miller and those who still patrol will never be forgotten. RIP Sir
