I am so sorry to hear of this senseless tragedy... I am nearing 50 yrs old and the same years of service as Master Sergeant Hood, and so this is particularly hurtful to hear. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, please know the federal community also grieves with you when we hear of these heart breaking events. May God help your healing along, and know I am thinking of you in Michigan..

Jesus tells us that there is no greater man than one who will give his life for his brother. You are now among the greatest. Thank you for your service. My thoughts and prayers are with your family as they try to fill the void you left in their hearts. Please say hello to my nephew who was killed in the line of duty with the Missouri Highway Patrol on August 17, 2005. I am sure that he is waiting to greet you.
