My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and loved ones of this brave officer. If any family memeber, friend, or fellow officer is reading this I would like you to know that Master Sergeant Steve Hoods accident really had a affect on my lawenforcement carrier. Being a new officer, I am not long out of the academy, and there is a news paper artical about Mr. hood on the hall way going into the bunk room, just reading about this acciednt every night, made me realize the dangers of this job goes much farther then someone with a gun. My thoguhts and prayers to all who were effected by this accident.

Missed the opportunity to send a letter to the parole board for the man Trooper Hood was pursuing when he was killed. I can't believe this guy is up for parole so soon and will never understand the light sentence. It should be an automatic life sentence for anyone creating this type of tragedy. I hope this guy was not paroled yesterday. God bless the family and fellow troopers of Trooper Hood. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you at this time.

In searching for news of my own dad, Steven L. Hood, I found this. Please, wife and three children of this officer, accept my heart felt condolences. My dad passed away on August 5th, 2009. He was 61. He left behind a lovely wife and three children as well. I'm sure you were and are very proud of your dad and will miss him so much. You're not alone.
