Reflections for Border Patrol Agent Cruz C. McGuire

The the family, friends, and Agents of Del Rio station I want to extend my deepest sympathies for your loss. Anytime a fellow PA is taken away it is a sad day in the Patrol. I did not have the good fortune of knowing Agent McGuire but I do know that anybody who still beats the brush on horseback after 25 years in green must have been one heck of a guy. May God be with his friends and family during this difficult time.

I never dreamed it would be me
My name for all eternity
Recorded here at this hallowed place
Alas, my name, no more my face

“In the line of duty” I hear them say
My family now the price will pay
My folded flag stained with their tears
We only had those few short years

The badge no longer on my chest
I sleep now in eternal rest
My sword I pass to those behind
And pray they keep this thought in mind

I never dreamed it would be me
And with heavy heart and bended knee
I ask for all here from the past
Dear God, let my name be the last

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I too, have 25 years of law enforcement service this year, and your family should be thinking of your retirement, not your burial.. I am SO sorry for their loss, and ours. What hurts us one, hurts us all. May God bless your soul.. and all those who love you.

To Border Patrol Agent Cruz McGuire, to all family members and friends who call him beloved, and to his law enforcement family:

I was sorry to learn of Cruz's death and extend my sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you have suffered. Words are insufficient to describe the sadness I feel for the McGuire family. May you find comfort in your faith and the support of the law enforcement community.

There are many police survivors who share this same journey with you, and that community will be there to support you. Cruz's memory will be forever honored and revered.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Cruz gave to his community and the citizens of our country and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on May 21, 2009.

To the family of Agent Cruz,
Cruz has given his life to protect all the other brothers and sisters from a different place now where he will wear a special pair of wings and a new badge for his watch.
A officer has such a special family away from there own family that I hope you can find comfort in them now in this time of need.
My heart goes out to your family.
Lots of prayers will be sent your way.

sister of fallen officer Ryden
