Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Eric Guy Kelly

You would probably still be alive if you went home after your shift. Instead you selflessly, honorably and bravely made the decision to assist your brothers. You are the very definition of what it means to be a police officer

Thankful citizen

May 26, 2012

Your heroism and service is honored today, the third anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I pray for the solace of all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. I hold your family in my heart's embrace. Thanks to your friends for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections.

Rest In Peace

Officer Kelly,

Guys like you are why I became a police officer. Your actions that day make me proud to go to work each day. I can’t imagine the pain that is felt by the families of your fallen brothers who died that day, but I am positive that your selfless actions that day brings comfort to them; no matter what, they know that you ran directly into the mouth of Hell itself to protect their loved ones from a madman.

May God bless your family.

Rest easy Brother.

We share this tragic day in common. On April 4, 2010 our beloved brother and friend Sgt Hector Ayala was taken from us. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of all three Pittsburgh Police officers who were killed.

Know that each year as you mourn and remember their passing, another department is also grieving with you.

Eric,
You are in my thoughts everyday. We worked together, Stood Strong together at the Old Zone Five and rode out some of the hardest days in the 90's. Remember when it wasnt nothing to fill two running sheets in an 8 hour shift.

When your shift was over that morning of April 4th, you did what you always did. What was second nature to you. You heard that call and you went. Not thinking of yourself, but thinking of those that were responding.

April 4,2009 turned out to be the worst day in the History of the City of Pittsburgh Police Department. Not only did we lose three of the most professional caring Officers, but I lost my friend.

My friend who always talk to me. My friend that only wanted to come back to Zone Five. When I saw you in Court and all you could do is give me a hug an say Cin, I'm coming back!! You were so happy and I was blessed. Blessed to know that the Officer, but more importantly my Friend was coming home to the station he forever loved to work at.

How I miss you Eric. You taught me so much, and I followed your advice from the talks that we had. I know that every night I go out on the street you are with me. I feel your presence and know that you are watching over me.
I have not let you down. I did what we talked about.

Know that I stay in touch with your MOM and D. Their hearts are broken and they miss you so much. I will forever be there for them. Its what I know you would want me to do.For I know you would be there for mine. Thats how we are. My friend who I learned from,Respected, and Love, I will see you again. Not in our time but, in GODS TIME. When that day comes I will rejoice in knowing that once again I will be in the presence of the man so many are proud of, looked up to,respect, and love.

My friend Eric Guy KELLY. May you rest in peace, watch over your mom and D. I will do my best from here for them. Know that I will be there for them. Forever in my heart, Cin.

I want to offer my condolences to this truly dedicated Officer and his family. It's a shame to hear that another officer has paid the ultimate sacrifice. We protect our communities from harm but take the risk of not coming home. I appreciate the service you have given us.
