God bess you brother, your sacrifice will never be forgotten. In a true heroic action, you fought the coward to the end. Heaven bent to take your hand and now you walk amongst our brothers and sisters who have gone before us.

To the Mayhle family, your husband, daddy and son was a true hero. Not in how Stephen died, but in how he lived doing a job he loved. A calling to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

To our family of the Pittsburgh Police. We cry with you as once again a senseless tragedy, led by a coward, has taken our brothers from the thin blue line. God bless you.

'For those who pledge to uphold it, Freedom requires a Sacrifice the protected will NEVER know.'

When a Officer bleeds from injury; all Officers feel the pain that is in their heart!
Law Enforcement is a very close knit family, and I feel closely related to all of them.
Thank you Officer Mayhle for your service, God keep you, and you will not be forgotten.

• A PART OF AMERICA DIED.... Somebody killed a policeman today .... And a part of America died…. A piece of our country he swore to protect .... Will be buried with him at his side.... The beat that he walked was a battlefield too,.... Just as if he had gone off to war, .... Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half-mast .... To his name they will add a gold star.... The suspect that shot him will stand up in court .... With counsel demanding his rights,.... While a young widowed mother must work for her kids .... And spend many long, lonely nights... .. Yes, somebody killed a policeman today…. Maybe in your town or mine,.... While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors.... A cop put his life on the line.... Now his ghost walks the beat on a dark city street, .... And he stands at each new rookie's side; .... He answered the call… of himself gave his all,.... And a part of America died.
