Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Lieutenant Michael Patrick Howe

I cannot believe Michael has been gone since 2008. It’s still a heart wrenching loss of a Top-Notch man, husband & father, and police officer. I am certain he is using his best stand-up routines to entertain every one in Heaven.

I can't believe it's been 7 years since you left us. I think about you all the time. You kept us all laughing all the time! I mean I hear the things you said which I swore you must have made up! I crack up all over again! I will never forget -ever- your speech. Well performance, at Joyce DeLuca's farewell party.you were a riot! We had sore stomachs & headaches from constant laughter. And what was even more funny was those folks that didn't get it were looking at us rolling wondeing what we were laughing at!
Even when someone asks my name, I smile inside and sing BA-BAY, BE-BEE, BI-BIDDYBY..... OR I CAN SAY B-104. I still tell Emge she looks BEACHY every time I see her! We talk about you all the time.

The one thing that we talk about the most is your true love for your wife! What we witnessed was the princess being swept
Off her feet by her Prince charming. You were always true, honest, and caring.

I still miss you Michael P Howe (III) RIP ALWAYS MY DEAR FRIEND.

One thing I remembered about LT, he came into the IST office once a week and sat with us...making us laugh, just because that was the kind of person he is. RIP Sir!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 5th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for the solace of all those who love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

Rest In Peace

Mike,
No special occasion to leave this note, just thinking about you, missing your quick wit, great sense of humor and passion. It still amazes me how you could fit the word "Ad nauseam" into every public discussion with the mayor. You were a great friend. You have not, and will never be forgotten. PS- I'm sure you are glad to know, we got a new Mayor now!

Lt. Howe was a great inspiration for me. I saw him often, and his zest for life was admirable and contagious. Every time he saw me, he would always ask me to try out for TAC. It never appealed to me but I couldn’t help but to feel good every time he asked.
May god rest your soul Lt. and you will always be on my mind and in my heart.

Michael P. Howe - Lieutenant, Gentleman, Comedian, Confidant, Friend. There will never be another like you. You were as true blue as they come. You loved your wife & your family more than life itself; your badge and your uniform were worn with beaming pride for 30 years. Everyone who knew you loved you, admired you, respected you. We laughed with you & at your jokes. You could have been a stand-up comic - you had the ability to make everyone laugh out loud!

Now we are crying and remembering our time with you, trying to comfort each other, as we mourn your passing. Your time with us was cut so short and we just don't understand why this had to happen. We know that God holds life's scripted playbook in His hands, so who are we to question Him? So, until we meet again, my friend - Rest in Peace - you have earned your rest. I will never forget you & I am blessed to have known you, my friend.

I found out this week that I will have the honor to ride in the Police Unity Tour for Lt Howe. While I didn't have the privilege to work with him in Ocean City, I know the veterans in my Agency spoke very highly of him. My thoughts and prayer are with Mike's family and friends.
