Officer Norman, I want to thank you for your service first and foremost. It's not important the two dates on your headstone. What is important is what you did between those dates. Rest in peace.

Officer Norman, thank you for your service and dedication. Watch over your family as they begin this long, dark journey without you.

How any judge could sentance a drunk driver to a mere 6 months in a half-way house is beyond comprehension. You, and your family, are serving a life sentance; somehow 6 months doesn't come close to being a fair sentance!

Rest in peace Officer Norman!

Michelle - wife of Retired LEO

I WAS STARTING MY CAREER ABOUT THE TIME THIS AWFUL ACCIDENT OCCURRED. I NEVER KNEW YOU, BUT IN SOME SMALL WAY WERE CONNECTED. I'VE SPENT THE TWENTY ONE YEARS OF MY CAREER WITH AN UNDYING DRIVE TO RID THE STREETS OF DRUNK DRIVERS. MANY AND MOST OF MY CO-WORKERS WANT ONLY TO FIND THE DRUGS,ALTHOUGH THAT IS IMPORTANT, I HAVE ALWAYS FELT A DRUNK DRIVER IS MORE IMPORTANT. IT'S WORTH THE PAPER WORK, IT'S WORTH THE COURT DAYS ON YOUR OFF DAY,AND IT'S WORTH THE ATTACKS FROM THE LAWYERS. WE AS POLICE OFFICERS READ ABOUT SUCH ACCIDENTS AS OFFICER NORMAN AND THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY EACH YEAR WHERE WE ARE THE VICTIMS OF DRUNK DRIVERS, BUT YET WE (NOT ME) STILL FIND IT EXCEPTABLE TO DRINK AND DRIVE. IN MY CAREER I HAVE BEEN PERSONALLY RIDICULED BY CO-WORKER (INCLUDING SUPERVISORS) FOR ARRESTING DRUNK DRIVERS. FOR THE SAKE OF OFFICER NORMAN AND HIS FAMILY I'M GOING TO KEEP ON,KEEPING ON. I MIGHT ADD TO THE POLICE OFFICER THAT DOES FIND IT EXCEPTABLE TO DRINK AND DRIVE, YOUR PROFESSION DOESN'T MAKE YOU A BETTER DRUNK DRIVER THAN THE TOWN DRUNK. WHAT A TERRIBLE SHAME IT WOULD BE TO BE A WELL RESPECTED OFFICER IN YOUR COMMUNITY AND TO BE THE CAUSE OF HURTING SOMEONE BECAUSE YOUR A DRUNK DRIVER. TO THE NORMAN FAMILY I'M SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.

Rest in peace, Officer Norman. Your fighting days are over, rest easy, and we will take it from here.

"And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son."
