Our condolences to family, friends, and co-workers of this brave officer. The price of freedom is high and Ofc. Pawlowski paid with the ultimate sacrifice. A sacrifice upon the altar of freedom is never in vain. He is an inspiration to us all and we grieve with you, remembering that each time a new officer puts on that PPD uniform, John is rememebred and the tradition goes on another generation and the sword of battle against evil is sharpened once more. Never give up the fight, never surrender, and never forget. To his young bride and children; we will pray for you.

No greater love has any man than he who would lay down his life for another. The citizens of Philadelphia need to remember that is exactly what John did for them, and they should thank God everytime they see a cop knowing that each one would do the same. RIP brother we'll take it from here.

Words can not express how sorry I am for your loss. I worked with John in the 6th district for over 4 years and I can honestly say he was a great guy and probably the most laid back person I ever knew! I've been on so many jobs with John and never saw him get upset once! On this job that's really hard to do. I'll never forget some of the stories that John told like the Jacksonville one or the Armless man! I still laugh when I think about them! It was a honor to have worked with John but even greater to call him my friend. Rest in Peace John, you will be missed!
