My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Being a young police officer myself, I understand the dangers of the job. There is no greater sacrifice then giving your own life for the people you protect. May God watch you and be with your family during this difficult time. Rest in peace brother.

My heart goes out to your family and they are in our thoughts and prayers. Your bravery and sacrifice will not be forgotten. Someday your son will know what it truely means to be a hero when he learns what his father did for others. Rest in peace and pray for us left behind to help us understand the loss of such a good man. Your family will be remembered and honored when they visit the US Capitol for the National Law Enforcement Memorial when we honor all law enforcement heroes lost during the year. How sad that your Department will add 5 more names to the wall.

Somebody killed a policeman today,
And a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect who shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights,
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids
And spend alone many long nights.
The beat that he walked was a battlefield, too,
Just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
It happened in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line.
Now, his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And he stands at each new rookie's side.
He answered the call and gave us his all,
And a part of America died.

Rest in Peace Brother

So sorry for the loss of this young brother in blue.. I hope the family and fellow LEO's at the Philadelphia P.D. find comfort in each other at this very difficult time.

I'm glad that piece of filth lived so he can see the honor and respect given to Officer Pawlowski by his brethren at the P.D. I hope they make him watch every bit of news coverage on the television from his hospital room or jail cell so he can see how a REAL American lived.

Thank you for your service, John Pawlowski, I hope to meet you one day on the other side, Brother.

I just put my dress blues away after burying one of our own (Chris Jones) and now I have to get them cleaned again. Philly PD helped and supported us in our time of need and I am honored to support them now. Brothers and sisters, you have my utmost respect. Your courage in the constant face of danger is inspiring. It made me so happy to know you got a round off and hit that scumbag. You stayed in the fight, just like you were taught. Danny Boyle, Pat McDonald and now John Pawlowski. Three Ryan boys done good. Rest in peace brothers.

When I start my tour of duty God
wherever crime may be
as I walk the darkened streets alone,
let me close to Thee.

Please give me understanding
with both the young and old
let me listen with attention
until their story's told.

Let me never make judgement
in a rash or callous way
but let me hold my patience,
let each man have his say.

Lord, if some dark and dreary night
I must give up my life,
Lord, with your understanding love,
protect my children and wife.
