To Suzanne and the kids,
I wish there were words to express who I feel, to somehow comfort you. I can't stop thinking about your loss and the profound effect this has had on your lives and those around you.
You are so strong, and I know that strength and your faith in God will be the cornerstone for building your life out of this horrid accident.
Chris was a good cop, a good man and an amazing father.
The world has lost a good soul, and heaven has gained an angel.
God Speed, Chris, you will be missed.
Thank you for you service.

In the profession of a police dispatcher/9-1-1 calltaker there are very few moments that brighton your day or make you feel like you are appreciated. When I worked with Officer Chris Jones I always experienced both of those. If I was working his zone I would look at the log to see if he was on duty and if he was I was so thankful. He "always" treated me with the utmost of respect and was just the nicest person to talk to and to work with. I am so saddened by this tragic loss of one of the finest men and police officers I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. My heart goes out to the family ,friends and coworkers in his department. He is definately one person who made such a positive difference in the lives of those who knew him. To think I will never talk with him again or work with him again is just so difficult to accept. I am blessed though to have known him for the time he was given and I will never forget him.

I was very greatful to have had the pleasure of meeting Ofc. Chris Jones a few times in the past couple of years. He always had a smile on his face, never had anything negative to say and was the most happy, go lucky guy you would ever want to meet. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. God bless his family and his fellow brothers & sisters at the Middletown Township Police Department. R.I.P. Chris...

I am still in shock about all of this. When I found out that Officer Jones was the victim of this horrible tragedy tears came to my eyes. Chris was a good cop, a caring person, and from what I've heard a devoted family man. I never saw Chris angry or with a frown on his face. He was always smiling no matter what the situation was. And when we needed help (EMS Personnel) and Chris was working he was the first one to show up and help. I will miss him everyday but will always remember the good times. And to Chris' family, God bless and may all of you find the strength to get through this difficult time. Please know that he touched many people in many different ways.

Chris came in at 0700 for court (CCP) on Thursday. Many of us from the squad came in at 0800 for a traffic detail. I was clocking traffic northbound on US 1 and saw that Chris was logged on to the MDT. I remember sending him a message, "COME PLAY WITH US!"

Chris replied, "I'LL BE RIGHT THERE."

Chris spent the last several years on the "steady day-work" shift, but was recently transferred to our squad, a rotating squad. It would have been easy (and understandable) for Chris to complain, or mope, or be disgruntled... Well, it would have been easy for anyone else. But Chris just showed up with that same old smile he always wore, with a great work ethic and his courteous manners.

He will be sorely missed.

"In The Line of Duty"
What is the meaning of "In The Line Of Duty"
It means that an officer made the Ultimate sacrifice.
It means that someone took an officer's life.
A hero has fallen.
Officers who gave their all
To protect and serve
Have been killed by someone whom they swore
To protect and serve.
It means that their badge will no longer be on their chest
And they will join
"The Best Of The Best"
It means that family and friends are left behind
To deal with the lost of a loved one.
Only having the memories of that loved one
Close to their hearts.
Something no one can ever take away.
It means that family members will stand at the officers grave
And wonder why ...
Why would someone take an officer's life
And leave them there to die?
If we only knew.
Today an officer will place their badge on their chest
To fulfill the dreams of heroes killed
"In The Line Of Duty"
May God Bless you and your Family
