I always enjoyed seeing Curt's smiling face, his kind eyes and feeling the warmth of his upbeat personality. It was a great pleasure to serve him his favorite drink, a Grande Mocha Latte during the mornings at the Starbuck's in Culver City. Just by watching the interaction between he, his colleagues and many others it was quite obvious to see that he was a great person and was well loved.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends, colleagues and most of all his family during this difficult time. May the sadness of his absence be uplifted and replaced with loving memories. Although we don't understand why this horrible tragedy happened to such a great person may we all have peace in our hearts and be comforted in knowing that Curt is in paradise where we'll see him again one day.

Sgt. Massey and I worked as a team with our Juvenile Diversion Program. This is a program for at risk teenagers in the community. Curt cared deeply for the youth in our community and truly enjoyed working over every Thursday night and many weekends with the kids. I will miss Curt in many ways. He was friend, a partner, and one heck of a police officer. He was devoted to his family and always put them first in his life. He loved to talk to me about his kids and the adventures they got into. God speed Curt........See you on the other side.
