Dommer,

I hope that in all of my career I will be a fraction of the deputy you are. I will have instilled in me the advice you first gave me when I came to your shift, and always see you as my big brother, giving me advice when you seen I needed it, giving me tips to make the job a bit simpler, and always having a good laugh when the time was right.

I can't think of the words to describe how I feel about you, I miss you we all miss you.

Stay safe brother, we Love you and miss you.

I remember working with you at the prison, and I remember when you made TCSO, you were so happy. I am sorry I was out of touch and never knew until now that you became Deputy Sheriff. I am and will always be very proud of you. God bless you and your family. You will be missed greatly.

To the family and friends of Deputy Dominique Smith and the members of the Torrance County Sheriff's Dept.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you have suffered when Deputy Smith was tragically killed.

To Dominique's family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son Larry was killed, the entire law enforcement community in the Bay Area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

In reading his reflections, I can see that Dominique was an amazing man who will be missed by so many.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Dominique gave to his community and the citizens of New Mexico, and for the supreme sacrifice he and exicohis family made on January 20, 2009.
