I want to say to Officer Samborski's family that I am so sorry for your loss. It's devestating. Ofc. Samborski gave the ultimate sacrafice. I hope you find some comfort in knowing your loved one is in heaven patroling the streets there and watching over you.

I can understand your pain and total devestation because I lost a close family friend I have known 20 years who died in the line of duty back in June in Maryland. His name was Sgt. Richard Findley and he was trying to make an arrest on several criminals that were in a stolen vehicle. When he got out to make the arrest they deliberately ran him over and drug him to his death. He left behind a wife and to young daughters ages 9&6. Ofc. Richard Findley was also a lifetime member of Beltsville Volunteer FireDepartment.

The police department family will help guide you through and will continue to be there for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

From one public safety department family to another in Oak Park, we grieve for the loss of your brother in blue (and red). The most important thing now is to support the family and Mason's little one. Let the family know that they can count on any one of us at any time.

There are no words to offer that will lessen this pain and agony you have been faced with. My heart goes out to every Oak Park Officer, Dispatcher and city employee, for we know how difficult the next several days, months and years will be. Hold each other close and keep a watchful eye. It is ok to let a smile peek through those tears...Mason would have wanted it that way. Take his wife and daughter under your protective wings. Remind them every day that their HERO will never be forgotten.

Mason,

While our patrol paths never crossed and I never had the pleasure of meeting you personally, I am saddened by the loss of another Michigan hero. Thank you for your ultimate sacrifice.

My heart goes out to your young child, bride, and the members of the Oak Park Police Department for the feelings of pain they must feel during this holiday season. Your brothers and sisters with the Auburn Hills Police Department are wearing mourning badges in remembrance of you brother.

Please watch over your family, partners, and those that choose to serve.

You’ve served with honor in hell, now rest in peace in heaven.
