Sheriff Lee is now home with God. May his family have peace and comfort during the difficult time ahead. What a tragedy and for it to occur on Thanksgiving morning adds to the grief. We all must be thankful for the sacrifice he made.

Sheriff Lee was one of the people who greeted me while I was in the hiring process at TABC. I have numerous family ties in Trinity County and as recently as a month ago, Sheriff Lee helped me re-connect with an old family friend. It goes to show that he served his community and his friends in little ways as well as in great ways, such as protecting life and liberty. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his loss and hope that his torch will be passed to a worthy candidate - whoever it may be, they have a large and shiny pair of boots to fill!

To Sheriff Lee's family,
My heart breaks for you as you begin to travel the road that so many of us hoped we would never be on...surviving the loss of our loved one in the line of duty. My first husband was killed 7 years ago so I know how hard it is. Everyone's circumstances (or their exact feelings) may be different but we all know the grief and sadness you are going through. There are many survivors out here praying for you.
Sheriff Lee,
You must have been a great Sheriff to be out that time of morning on Thanksgiving helping your deputies. Thanks for your sacrifice.

I just wanted to send my condolences to the family and friends of Brent Lee. Its a shame that we had to lose a brother and fellow officer because of someone who was only thinking of themself. God bless to all of you.I am deeply sory for your loss.

Although your movement to God's kingdom was not planned know that He has a special place for our brothers and sisters in law emforcement and as a dedicated, honorable and efficent leader your talents will serve His law enforcement community very well. Know that your collegues will never forget you and they will care for your family. DON'T GRIEVE FOR ME

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path god laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call,
I turn my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Task left undone must stay that way,
I found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Than fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I, too, will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow,
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
I believe in God and believe I will see you again.
All of us here at KWLF internet radio send our prayers to all who knew Sheriff Lee. We hope these few words will help some in the dark days ahead.
