Your heroism and service is honored today, the 110th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Rest In Peace.

On the 108th anniversary of Inspector Levy's death, we honored his service in our patrol briefing by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Inspector Levy is not forgotten.

A COP

HE WATCHES A PERP RUN AND CHASES HIM.
HE WATCHES TRAFFIC ON A STREET.
HE ANSWERS A CALL.
HE ARRESTS A SUSPECT.
HE ATTENDS A FALLEN COMRADE’S FUNERAL.
HE FEELS THINGS LIKE YOU & ME.
HE’S ANOTHER HUMAN BEING JUST DOING HIS JOB.

IF YOU SEE HIM IN HIS PATROL CAR,
HE’S MAKING SURE WE OBEY THE LAWS .
A JOB HE TOOK A VOW TO PROTECT AND SERVE.
HE’S DOING HIS JOB HE’S PAID TO DO.
HE LOVES HELPING OTHERS.
HE LOVES ANSWERING QUESTIONS.
OTHERWISE HE WOULDN’T BE A COP!

A COP DEDICATED TO PROTECT AND SERVE.
