My deepest sympathy goes out to Frank's family! I just heard the news from a friend Tuesday morning, and am in complete shock! I had the pleasure of meeting Officer Russo while working at Alumni Club in Schaumburg. To me, Frank was bigger than life! He loved his family dearly, and I know he loved his job! Frank has helped me in more ways than I can explain! It is a great loss to the department, City of Schaumburg and his close friends and family! My words are of complete respect and loyal friendship to a man that had a HUGE heart, an extreme willingness to help...I have been fortunate enough not to have dealt with many losses in my life, but the very few that I have encountered have been devestating...Officer Frank Russo being one! May GOD watch over you, your family and dear friends!! YOU WILL BE MISSED!

With much Love and Respect, your friend,
George Petrovich

Frank it was my honor to have known and served with such a good man and such a good policeman. We worked many years together on the midnight shift and I always looked forward to seeing you at roll call because your sense of humor always provided a nice start to our tour of duty. Your laugh and smiling face was contagious. When your first wife passed away some years back you handled yourself with the utmost dignity and grace. You had some tough breaks over the years, but never once did I hear you complain. Your wife and children can be very proud of your memory. I'll never forget you Frank. It's people like you who made me proud to be a member of the Department. Rest in peace my brother.
