Sergeant King, I mourn and am angered by your murder. I honor your life . . . your name, your service and I honor you for walking the path of the warrior, knowing as we all do, the risks. You are truly honorable.

Some will say that you were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. I say you were not . . . that you were on duty, in a University City Police Vehicle, in your jurisdiction, in uniform, displaying your badge, and honorably fulfilling you sworn duty, protecting the citizens and people in University City, Missouri. Your murderer was in the wrong place at the wrong time . . . which would have been being ANY place at ANY time!" If your murderer has not yet been apprehended, or dealt with as I write this, he will be shortly. I have every confidence that all Missouri law enforcement officers are aggressively seeking him out. You rest easy now Sarge, we'll take it from here, we'll cover your position on our thin blue line. With brotherly love and respect,

Jim Crotty, Special Agent(Ret.)
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms &
Former Richmond, VA Police Officer

Mike, it was very very sad to hear what happened to you. Everyone knows you were the most non confrontational person in our business and it was a terrifying moment when I received the horrible news about what happened. U-City will always have a special place in my heart. It was because of you and people like Sharon, Cindy, Diane, Linda, Pat, Gene, Dave, Jackie, Alicia, Lonnie, Suzy, and both Jim's that made me the person that I am. My hear goes out to your family and my University City Family. May you Rest in Peace and our prayers will be with you.
