"No more the bugle calls the weary one.
Rest, noble spirit, all thy work is done.
I will find you and know you among the
good and true.
When a robe of white we're given
for our faded coats of blue."

Shane,

You went way before your time, but at least we got the guy who did this. May your soul rest in peace in the presence of our Lord for I know he is looking after your family in your absence. You will always be in our thoughts!

God Bless you Officer Figueroa and your beautiful family.
Our loss is Heavens gain, and you will forever be missed in all of our hearts. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends, especially your baby girl who was never given the chance to know how much of a hero her daddy really was. You gave the ultimate sacrifice and we will always remember you for your undenying bravery. I know you're up there in Heaven still watching over the world and keeping everyone safe. It saddens me that you were taken so soon, but may you rest in peace and God Bless. The Phoenix Police Department will never, ever forget you.

I don't know why this struck so close to home. Maybe because Officer Figueroa was only 4 years older than my husband and I, and he left such a young child behind, who will never know their father. Every time this tragedy has been mentioned on the news, I get this twinge in my heart and this spark of anger that this accident could have been avoided. My thoughts and prayers go out to Officer Figueroa's wife, baby, family, and friends.

I brought my two boys up from Maricopa to watch the funeral procession and try to honor Officer Figueroa in some small way. Shane's father retired from the Phoenix PD and went to work on the Maricopa Police Department when it started up last year.

I have volunteered my time in a couple of departments in California, and understand a tiny bit what the job entails. When an officer goes home to God, the community mourns.

Thank you for your service and you will be missed. The thin blue line is a little thinner today. God Bless your family in this time of pain, and may He hold you in your Hand until you see them again.
