I was saddened to learn of the death of Deputy Jones. As a Bloomington native, it strikes home and makes it hurt just that worse. My prayers go out to the friends and family of Deputy Jones and the members of the Monroe County Sheriff's Department and Bloomington Police Department...Both fine organizations. While I did not know Deputy Jones, I must say it is a sad day for the State of Indiana to lose another law enforcement officer in the line of duty. I used to work for Monroe County as a dispatcher and know how close the officers all work together, so Sarah was a part of my "extended family" in a way. Rest in peace Sarah, your friends and family will all miss you greatly and thank you for your service.

Deputy Jones had found her way to serve, and she was a dedicated officer. She gave her all in the service of her community, and we honor her for that service.
I pray for the family, friends, and co-workers of Deputy Sarah Jones. Nothing will ever replace her, but I pray that their memories of Sarah in happy times spent together will help to ease the pain they are feeling now.

I heard of your crash early today, Sunday, 10/19/08. I immediately prayed that your injuries would not be severe, but I was wrong.
I later received word you had died. I saw your picture on WISH TV on line and saw you are so young and so pretty with so much life that you should be living. It tears my heart apart to realize that you won't be growing old with you husband. I don't know if you have kids or not. This goes against nature that parents have to bury their kids. I pray they have the strength of God and of your family and the extended law enforcement family. I tell others in cases like this that you are no longer suffering. You have been taken home to be with God and that he will comfort you and give you all the love you can handle. It is always those of us left behind that are left to wonder why and what can we do to prevent this tragedy again.
To the members of the Monroe County SO, please know that you are all in my prayers and, together, we can get past this. We must NEVER forget officers like Sarah who make the ultimate sacrifice.

To LEO's everywhere, remember there is NO call that is routine!
