Sarah,

Was just thinking of you and our waiver testing at the academy, and how we were so worried about it. I always forgot my pen and you let me borrow one of yours.... You are not forgotten. Please help watch over all of us down here. Your brother in blue.

I just watched you memorial video on youtube and was touched. I am a Police Officer in your state and Chief of a larger department. My son was just hired on our department and I have the typical concerns. Your are such an honorable person, serving oour country in the military and as a Police Officer. Your video showed just how vibrant and full of life you were. The pictures of you and your husband are touching and the reflection from your family, especially your Mother has touched even a crusty old veteran like me. I know you look down on us as a Guardian Angel from above. Please look our for my son and all Police Officers and tell St. Michael that it's good to have a St. Sarah looking out for us.

Deputy Sarah, Just an FYI~ be on the lookout for the
creep that stole Austin & Mackenzie's Sarah pumpkin
from their front porch. I guess someone needed it more
than they did!

I am sure you can send out an SOS from above.
Thinking of you!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I can see by the reflections left for you that you were an amazing young woman who lived a life of service to her community and to her country. Rest In Peace.

To your family: I understand the meaning of lives forever altered and know that when you lose someone so precious to you that the pain never goes away...the pain and the pride is forever. To your parents especially, losing a beloved child has to be life's greatest sorrow. I pray for your solace.

Sarah,
It's hard to believe that a year has come and gone since you left us. You are in our thoughts daily and I know you are in a better place now, watching over us. So much has happened over the past year that would make you so proud. Chris organized a memorial 5k and scholarship in your honor. Your parents have also started a memorial scholarship and your mom has gotten quite good at making jewelry. She makes the jewelry in your honor and the procedes go to the scholarship. Your parents, Matt, and Jess also had a "Fall Harvest" a few weeks ago and sold a ton of pumpkins to fund the scholarship.

I will forever remember your beautiful smile and sweet personality. As I have said before, you will always live in our hearts and never be forgotten.

Love Ya'

Eric

Good Morning, Sarah~
Just like I say it every morning for the past year, year
so hard to believe! It has been a time of saddness, tears,
remembering, never forgetting, growing stronger, honoring,
more tears, new friendships, finding strengh, and mostly so
proud of the wife, daughter, sister, auntie, friend, animal lover, veteran, and LEO you had become, only to leave us so
young. Guide us everyday~Watch over us from above, Smile down when you see your sunflowers blow in the wind, or your
pumpkins continue to grow every year. Sometimes, it is the
littest things are make the tears flow.
Thinking of you, what you left behind (they are doing fine),especially on the eve of the 1 year anniversary of you crossing the "thin blue line", Hero's live Forever!

Always in our hearts!

Deputy Jones
I came across your tribute on accident but I am certainly glad I did. I then came here to read your reflections. Often times in life it seems that people take what they have for granted, from what I have seen (only pictures) and from what I have read you seized the opportunities that were presented to you. Thank you for your service both in the military and as a fellow LEO. Be sure we have the watch now, keep us safe from above.

Sarah,
I met your family this past week in DC. Your mom approached me and told me that she was drawn to me. She hugged me and told me that I was beautiful. This came at one moment when I needed that hug most. We were on our way to the memorial at the Capital and my mind was anywhere but there. I was wishing that my husband, Mark was still here. Somehow I think maybe you led your mom to me. If you did, thank you. You were and are a loved woman. God bless you and your beautiful family and husband. They truly lost a gem when they lost you.

You and all of your loved ones are in my thoughts. We may have crossed paths at a Police Explorer Conference in the past as I use to be an advisor back in the 90's in Illinois. I would like to leave a short poem for you and all of your loved ones. You will never be forgotten.

Those who we love and lose
Are no longer where they were before,
They are now wherever we are.

Message by Your friends Doug and Dixie

Wayne,Kim,Matt,Jody,Jess,Alexis,Gabe,Chris
26 days have past since receiving the phone call from you Kim. We had just spent two nights and days together. You were so excited to go home and pack to visit Chris and Sarah for the weekend. I could not believe that you were telling me Sarah had been in a terrible accident while on duty. I kept saying a prayer over and over to please hold Sarah in his loving arms, protect her, heal her. Our prayers are not always answered in our time and understanding. We do know Sarah is in Heaven and that is the most beautiful garden imaginable. The message she left on your answering machine makes you smile and remember your Sarah. I believe that was in God's plan,,,,,,as a reminder that she is safe with him and she has "things coming up in the garden" !! I know she is looking down upon you each and every day as she is preparing her garden to share with all of you when you will be together again. In the meantime take comfort knowing that each one of you shared a very important role in Sarah's life. Each of you can be so very proud of the person Sarah became. We are proud to have shared in her life and thank you for sharing her with us. We will miss her and that sweet smile as well until that day of judgment comes.
We love you all and will always be here for you anytime! Love, Dixie and Doug
