Reflections for Sergeant Patrick C. McDonald

Sgt. Patrick McDonald ~
It is obvious by your courage
why you were being promoted to Sergeant.
Your job isn't over yet.
We need for you to keep watch over all us
from up there. You have the best seat and
we're still counting on you
to cover our butts.

Thoughts and Prayers to the McDonald Family.

Quite by accident I found this Memorial site. My granddaughter had to do an ancestry report for school and "Googled" her grandfather's name. Her grandfather,my late husband, Ross F Brackett was killed on July 15, 1968. My sincere condolances go to your family and friends as a widow and comrad. You will be remembered, revered and loved by all..it is over 40yrs since Ross was killed and he is still loved and remembered....Bless you and your family.............

Sgt. McDonald, I sincerely thank you for your service to the City of Philadelphia. I was injured while making an arrest, and to this day, do not know why some Officers' lives' are spared and the Best of Officers must go. I would like to thank you for giving your all everyday wether you were working or not! While You did not not deserve the execution style end of your career, I truly believe you would have had it that way before letting it happen to anyone else. YOU are truly what a Police Officer is Suppoosed to be. Thank You, and God Speed!!!!!

It has been a month since you were horribly taken from all of us. Not a day goes by that you are not thought of often. We can all still hear your "What's up" when you walked into a room. You are greatly missed.
May you rest in piece and watch over all of us.
God Bless you and your family.

Pat we would past each other many times on those stairs in that awful building of ours, never a word was spoken between us other than a "what's up". You did your job with honor, the way we all should. It's terrible times like the past two years that make us stronger and apprieciate each other. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten and we all hold heavy hearts in your honor. Thank you and God bless you and your family. We will keep watch for you.

To the McDonald family.

There are no words that I can give you to make your pain any more bearable. You are living the nightmare that all police families have. The knock on the door...Our love one gave it all.

Pat must have been an extraordinary officer. To go to Highway after only two years is such a huge accomplishment.
He is a hero.

"No greater love has a man than to lay down his life for a friend"

To Pat, the Citizens of Philadelphia were his friends.
He is someone I point to when I talk to my children about Honor, Integrity and in Pat's case most of all Service.
The greatest service an officer can do for his city. To die protecting it.

God Bless you Pat
You and your family are in our prayers/
