In 2 days our family will be reliving the loss of our brother and his K-9 partner at the hands of a murderer such as Officer McDonalds. I am proud to be a member of this thin blue line, but hate the way I became a member. Officer McDonald, you are forever a hero in the hearts of everyone. You served, you protected and you held up your oath of honor. My brother will be greeting you in Heaven. Rest my brother and know you are never forgotten.

For all officer reading this and serving with honor...Thank you for all you do!!

I AM A WARRIOR
by Jon F. Hooper

I fight not for glory or fame,
For they are momentary.
I fight for those who can't.
I fight for Justice.
I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden.
And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets,
For I serve to protect the innocent.
It matters not where or when,
For evil knows no boundaries.
Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny,
I will not flee.
Justice is my weapon.
Faith is my shield.
Hope is my armor.
Cry not at my passing,
For it was my Honor to fight for you.
Shed not tears of sorrow,
But tears of joy,
For now,
I stand with God.

I'm sorry to hear about this heart breaking tragedy. May the Lord watch over Patrick's family and the Philadelphia Police Family during these trying times. Patrick died a true hero and he epitomizes the type of role model that all officers should strive to model themselves after - he died protecting the public - serving his community. As tragic as this loss is, I have faith that Patrick is in a better place, and I pray that the Lord will watch over our officers and keep them safe. I know this has been a tough year. God Bless you all. The men and women of the DC Metropolitan Police Department are forever thankful for Patrick's sacrifice.

My heart goes out to Officer McDonald’s family and the entire Philadelphia law enforcement family as well. One cop being killed or even wounded is far too many, but in that great city it’s become insane. Four killed and I can recall at least two wounded (Officer Bowes and Officer Kelley of the PHA PD) in recent years. It’s truly a sad situation.

Officer McDonald, you weren’t even given a chance but from what I’ve read, you died a hero, but of course, that is no consolation to those who know and love you. I pray that you will forever Rest in Peace, you’ve earned that rest.

To Officer Bowes, I thank God you survived and I hope you make a speedy recovery. Thanks to you, that lowlife Daniel Giddings will never be a threat to anyone again. I will say a prayer for all the officers involved since no doubt this traumatic event will weigh on them.

God Bless.

Rest now, my brother.
