The map depiction of the Montgomery County Jail relative to this published story is incorrect. The map shows the current location of the jail while the jail at the time of the story was at the southeast corner of North Maysville Street and East High Street in Mt. Sterling (currently known as "the Bell House". The Bell House has been built in the earlier 1800s and was purchased as the Jailor's residence in the latter 1800s with the actual jail being built on behind it.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 118th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.
