To The Aponte Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I never met Sgt Dario Aponte but feel like I know him well. I work with his brother Michael Aponte (US Army retired) here in Afghanistan. Michael is great to work with. He often has bragged about his older brother the proud father, husband and police officer. May Sgt Dario Aponte rest in peace.

Scott,
I always wonder why God takes the good and leaves the bad to live. I finally figured out that he needs the bravest hero's to come home and help him watch over those of us who need protection and guidance from above. It's a tough job and he makes sure he hand picks only the best. We all need you to give us strength and courage to help us make it through this very sad and difficult time. May God Bless your family and may you help Donna and all of your beautiful children get through this storm and be able to smile and know that you are by their side each and every day. You truly are the definition of a "cop" and a hero.
Rest in Peace Scott. We will miss you always. Jaime "Elvis" Sanchez. xoxoxo

" Scotty " The poet Antonio Porchia once wrote, " Man, when he does not grieve, hardly exists. Well we are all grieving and trying to come to terms with this and, yes, existing. I want to thank you for your wisdom, upbeat attitude and patience during our all' too' short' time together in the B of I . Thank you, Sir, for your service and for showing us exactly what love of family and " doing the next right thing is all about " You will never be forgotten.

I remember witnessing Scott's tears of joy, during his wedding to Donna. Today, the tears we shed are for losing a friend, husband, father, family member and a damn good cop.
He was always professional and took pride in his work.
He had a great smile and laugh to support his sense of humor.
We were lucky to have him in our lives.
My thoughts and prayers are with Donna and his family.
God bless
