By William Butler Yeats
I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made;
Nine bean rows will I have there, a hive for the honeybee,
And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
There midnight's all a-glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
And evening full of the linnet's wings.

I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear the water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements gray,
I hear it in the deep heart's core.

The wicked fleee where no man pursueth, but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Proverbs 28:1

May God be with you and all who mourn you. May he give them the strength to carry on.

To her daughter: A little message to let you know you are cared for. Life without your mom is hard, as you already know. Sometimes it will seem like you can't cary on, but you gotta keep holding on. Remember your momma and live like she would want you to. Your mom is a hero now and forever.

Isabel was an incredible young and effective officer. I came to know her as "Izzy" about 15 years ago when she was assigned to South Street patrol. What a great and effective officer and friend. I was friendly with Izzy & Terry (partner on South Street) on and off job.

When I saw her photo on the news, my jaw dropped and heart broke. What a sad moment of reality for me. I have numerous friends in law enforcement and never had one loose their life.

Izzy - I will always pray for you and your family. I will keep your memory close to my heart. You were truly fun and refreshing. You took the harshness of the job with a grain of salt. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED!

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the officer they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Officer Nazario, especially to her fiance. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. I can also be found on face book. You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Isabel, she sounds like she was a great woman with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew her in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Isabel's life and the WOMAN that she was. Remember that Isabel's life was about so much more than the way she died. Isabel will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember her.

Officer Nazario, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been almost six years but we still miss him terribly.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

Quite by accident I was led to this Memorial page. My granddaughter had to do an ancestry report for school and "Googled" her grandfather's name. Her grandfather, my late husband Ross F Brackett was killed on 7/15/1968.I also became a Police Officer late in life and was able to retire safely unlike many officers who gave their lives for this city. My sincere condolances go to your family and friends...as you will NEVER be forgotten by those who care...it's over 40yrs since your comrad was killed, and he is still loved, revered and remembered....Bless you and your family...........

Isabel,

Your life will not be measured by the short time you were with us, but by the contributions and service you so honorably gave in your time here; for, some leave a legacy in 40 years, that others only hope to accomplish in 80 years. May God be with your family, both inside and outside the department, as we share in their pain. It was a pleasure to have known you.

Esto es un dia triste. No entiendo. Somos por siempre agradecidos.

Dios te bendice, siempre.

Izzy and I shared lockers next to each other. I have been detailed out for a while , but Izzy would keep in contact with me from time to time. My final phone called came from her on 8/28/08. She had just learned that I had been in a bad accident and was so upset that she hadn't called sooner, but as she stated she didn't know. She ask if I needed anything at all and if I did to call her, She repeatly said she was so sorry.She would always say in the locker room before our tour of duty,"becareful out there girl".She repeated those same words to me before hanging the phone up that day.Her sincere words of concern brighten by day. Our confidential conversations we use to have in the locker room about life ups and downs were really inspiring. I felt honored that she would confide in me about some personal matters because she was a very private person when came to some matters of her personal life. Although Izzy would sometimes have that stern look on her face, she had a heart of gold. Meeting her mother for the first time during thes sad times, I see where she got her kindness.
Fairwell for now, my sister in blue,Our path will cross again in the after life.
