Juan was my grandfathers uncle. I’m proud of my Great uncle. I continue his service in Oklahoma as a State Trooper. A copy of his story hangs in the roof of my patrol car.

Juan Nales was my great uncle. His nephew is my grandfather Elvio Nales who lives in Oklahoma. Juan’s story is personal to me as I am an Oklahoma Trooper. I have this memorial page printed and hung up on the roof of my patrol car. I thank him for his service.

I never knew him, but he was my great-uncle (grandfather's sister's husband). He was killed before his son John was born.

We can only hope the vile scum who murdered you faced true justice, if not during his stay in prison then in the next life.

You were a pioneer in law enforcement and a hero. I have no doubt your family forever kept your memory alive and have honored your memory through the generations.

God Bless and may you eternally Rest in Peace, Brother.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 90th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Juan, it was quite a coincidence that I bought a recent issue of Cigar City magazine that told the history of the former City of West Tampa and West Tampa P.D. as well as your Line Of Duty death at the young age of 25. That story led me to tour the old city and see the magnificent old brick streets and abandonded cigar factories. So magnificent was one cigar factory it still sports a brick clock tower with four big ben clocks facing N,S,E,& W that 100 years ago could be seen from every street in West Tampa. How proud you and your brother must have been to be West Tampa police Officers together. You can rest in peace knowing that you are still remembered and appreciated 88 years later. Thank you for your service to the City of West Tampa and watch over all of us...
