It has been almost two years since your passing. May God bless your soul and grant some peace for those left behind. The community also suffers when such a good, decent person is so tragically taken from us. Your killer is trying to retract his gulty plea, he is such a coward!I hope to one day meet you in heaven.

Anne,

We had a picnic for you yesterday... I got to meet your mom and dad... They are wonderful people... I know everyone here misses you very much... Especially George... He speaks of you often... Also, just thought you should know, Chip is doing well... He is a great dog. Hope to meet you in heaven someday!

Anne,
It has been almost 2 years since that sad and terrible day that you were taken from us. I wear your ODM bracelet everyday to remind me of the ultimate sacrifice you made. In my Patrol car I have your picture and I say hi to you every day I hit the road and know that you are there watching over me.

Just wanted you to know that I think of you often, as Im sure do our academy class mates from 579.

You are a special person with a special heart and we will never forget you. Gone but never forgotten U76.

LADY WARRIOR
In memory of Deputy Anne Jackson, Skagit County Sheriff’s Department
And
US Forest Service Officer Kristine Fairbanks
Both killed in the line of duty in Washington State, September 2008

Somebody somewhere called you
“daughter”, or “sister”
Perhaps somebody somewhere called you
“mom”
I suppose somebody somewhere called you
“lover”
And the loss they feel, no doubt’s at least as strong

But Lady Warrior
Is how I came to know you
Sister Soldier
Is who you were to me
Lady Warrior
That fire that burned within you
Was the same warrior fire
That burns inside of me

You fought beside me
In the mountains and the valleys
You stood beside me
In the heat of the fire
You walked beside me
Down those darkest streets and alleys
Full of courage, and strength, and warrior fire

And Lady Warrior
Is how I came to know you
Sister Soldier
Is who you were to me
Lady Warrior
That fire that burned within you
Was the same warrior fire
That burns inside of me

Another warrior
Has fallen in the battle
A brave soldier
Has paid the final price
Another hero
Gave her life as a reminder
That freedom only comes
Through sacrifice

Warrior
Is how I came to know you
Soldier
Is who you were to me
Lady Warrior
That fire that burned within you
Was the same warrior fire
That burns inside of me

Lady Warrior
That fire that burned within you
Trust that your warrior fire
Burns on
Inside of me

I was watching the news the other nite and it was about a
friend of yours and she mentioned you in passing. It was a
touching story about a woman who took in a starling and nursed it back to health and kept it as a pet. Sounds like
something you would do!

This New Year is much less joyful without your beautiful smile and warm personality around the office. Just want to let you know that you are not forgotten in the midst of holiday celebrations and the beginning of this new year.

- You are an inspiration for what I will always strive to be, both personally and professionally!

- I miss you my friend...

Deputy Jackson, I'll never forget the day you paid the ultimate price. I was still on FTO and heard of a shooting in Skagit County shortly before end of shift. Only after securing for the day did I hear you lost your life. The following day I wore a mourning band around my badge for the first time. It was not pleasant. Before the week was out I crossed paths with the man who murdered you in Snohomish County Jail. When I saw him and learned who he was, I couldn't help but feel an almost overwhelming sense of vengeance in me wanting to get out.

Unfortunately I was unable to attend your memorial service which I greatly regret. Your death made me question all over again whether or not this job is my calling. After much thought and reflection, I do know now that it is my calling without a doubt.

Thank you for your service and the price you paid. You will never be forgotten by me. Some day we will meet again.

POLICE OFFICER 9TH DISTRICT
PHILA PA

December 5, 2008

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the officer they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Deputy Jackson. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. I can also be found on face book. You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Anne, she sounds like she was a great woman with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew her in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Anne's life and the WOMAN that she was. Remember that Anne's life was about so much more than the way she died. Anne will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember her.

Deputy Jackson, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been almost six years but we still miss him terribly.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)
