Anne ~
Your smile, grace and beauty, both inside and out, will never be forgotten. Your glow is still lighting all our ways through this dark time. The stories I'll share, hear and most definitely cherish. You touched many and were loved by even more. One of the greatest people I've known.
U76 is out of service forever, may you rest in peace.

I will remember Anne for her passion for animals, her warm caring nature and her tremendous commitment to others. She always went “above and beyond” in her work with both the people, and animals at Black Mountain Ranch. Anne inspired the love of riding in so many children, and even parents! She provided wonderful care for our horse, Brodie, as well as the other ranch and private horses. Despite “pressure from above,” she kept a stray cat, Dianna, at the barn until my daughters finally convinced my husband to adopt her. ☺ Anne planned an entire curriculum for teaching our weekly “Riding Club” lessons, on her own time! It was a big loss for Black Mountain Ranch when Anne changed careers, although we all completely understood her reasons for leaving. Anne, we thank you for your tremendous contributions to the Black Mountain Ranch community. May you rest in peace. I will always remember…”Keep your heels down,” and “Anyone for a line dance?” ☺

As I've only recently started with the jail, I knew you only briefly, and not yet by name, but by the beautifully bright smile and pencil bun hair. When the elevator doors opened and it was you I knew it was going to be a good night. It will amaze me for life how you managed to walk in laughing with each and EVERY one you brought in. You are irreplacable. You will be missed.

When the doors open I will always see your face...

I am very saddened to hear about Anne's killing. She was the horse wrangler at the Black Mountain Ranch (Mt. Baker Highway) for several years prior to optaining employment with Skagit County.

I will long remember her dedication to the "safety rules" and wanting the best for all of the children (most of whom were Canadian weekenders) who were learning to ride.

My sympathies to her family members. Please know that she made a difference in the lives of many children who were learning to ride.

Romans 13:1-2
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

We love you Anne.
