Looking at your photograph Evan is like going back in time. You look just like your dad, Gordon. I'll bet you were a chip of the old block. Your dad was my classmate in the U.S. Border Patrol Academy, I'm proud to say.
I haven't seen or spoken to your father since the early 80s, when we were a couple of young bucks, shotgunning traffic on I-8 and in the desert, for smugglers down on the southern border. Your father in Yuma, and me in the neighboring station El Centro.

My most profound condolences to Gordy and family. I can only imagine the pain. I hope the family realizes that in law enforcement, we all share the pain.

May God bless you Evan, and thank you for your service. 10-42 brother, and well done!

Evan was indeed a credit to his uniform. He had a wonderful laid back disposition. He will be sorely missed by those of us that worked with him. I will be left with nothing but fond memories when I think of his laughter. Rest in Peace 330.
